Customer profile
A leading NBFC offering microfinancing against gold and other commodities with numerous branches dispersed across remote places in the country.
Requirement
To build a comprehensive IOT-based tool to manage security risks of unsolicited visitors and mitigate risks of burglary attacks at remote branches.
Solution Details
The solution was designed to cater to physical security, with a strong foothold in technology. An array of features was built to prevent, monitor, and react to any unauthorized entry into the premises of the branches. The key features implemented were:
Automation of visitor key details recorded at the door (Name, phone number, photograph)
OTP-based validation of visitors
Automated door release for a pre-defined brief period
Instant alerts for any unauthorized/forced entry to the premises
Door hazard alert if doors are kept open longer than the pre-defined period
Alerts to the branch, zonal, and central security teams through push notifications via email SMS, or other preferred modes
Predefined access controls for staff entries
Control of the door can be exercised at branch, zonal, or central offices.
The system also had the potential to be interfaced with multiple other security features such as:
Blacklisting unwanted visitors
Recognition of any weapons on CCTV cameras
Geo-tagging of bags in the locker room
Analytics across branches
A distinguishing feature of the system was the ease of installation. The system had capabilities to be installed on Air conditioners, bulbs, fans, TVs, etc. This would enable inconspicuous installation of the device. An important aspect of the system is the layered accessibility/intimation which significantly minimizes response time in cases of emergencies, and we understand that in such times every second counts. The founder lauded our model to be the preferred choice of all the solutions that were presented.
The system is capable of resolving age old problem of ‘who has the house keys’. Limited entries can be given on a need basis such as to brokers, and visitors when the resident is away as well.
